Online Examination System for Students
Project Description: Our institute decided to design and implement an online examination system for students, ensuring an efficient process for administering exams and handling student information and grades. Since I oversee the entire website, they assigned this task to me. So, I researched the best online examination systems to develop a high-quality exam.
Key Responsibilities:
Webpage Development:
- Created a user-friendly login page where students register with their email addresses for exams and have a personal platform to view their grades and other steps. Ensured the accuracy and completeness of student information by input validation mechanisms.
Data Management:
- Processed and organized the collected student information using Excel. Used this information to keep students updated with news and all exam-related details, including timelines and rules, on the webpage for easy reference.
Exam Creation:
- Developed comprehensive exams using the Quiz and Survey Master plugin in WordPress. This plugin allows us to write exams online and is easy to use for teachers. It has many features, even for writing math problems. Scheduled exams to be taken through the website, ensuring accessibility for students. Each student can access the exam through their profile on the website.
Proctoring and Monitoring:
- Utilized Microsoft Meet to monitor students during exams. Divided students into multiple rooms, each monitored by a teacher, to ensure fair and effective exam supervision.
Result Management:
- Gathered student results from the exams and managed the data in Excel. Created a table in Excel to calculate the final scores for each student. Using Excel features, we easily generated individual grades and certificates based on student performance.
Communication:
- Notified students via email when their certificates were ready and available for download. Students could access and download their certificates from their profiles on the institute’s website using their user ID and password.
Feedback and Improvement:
- Conducted surveys at the end of each exam to gather student feedback on the process. Analyzed survey results, which indicated high levels of satisfaction. The system was helpful for students to find out their mistakes, allowing them to improve their knowledge. Used feedback to make continuous improvements to the online examination system for the future.
